What is the body material of the BYD Han?

BYD Han utilizes 1300MPa hot-stamped steel in its body structure, applied at 43 locations with a total usage of 97kg, combined with its 360-degree full-cage frame structure. During collisions, the impact energy is absorbed in three stages by the front compartment, gradually reducing energy release and thereby minimizing occupant impact. The Han comes standard with 11 airbags, including side airbags and curtain airbags, among other soft protective measures. BYD has specifically reinforced the thickness of the left and right longitudinal beams, coupled with its proprietary structural design, significantly enhancing side impact resistance and effectively reducing the likelihood of structural deformation post-collision. In terms of steel selection, the BYD Han features a high-strength steel ratio of up to 67.7%, with the highest strength reaching 1300MPa. It is precisely based on these high-strength foundational materials and the excellent structural design incorporating extensive hot-stamped steel body components that the BYD Han maximizes passenger safety.
