I've been driving the Highlander for a while now, with a body length of approximately 4965mm, nearly 5 meters. For family users, this space is a huge plus. Even with three people sitting in the back row, it's spacious, and kids have plenty of room to move around. The trunk capacity is sufficient to hold all the gear for family trips, such as tents or folding bikes. The downside is the hassle of parking in the city—narrow parking spots require multiple adjustments when reversing, and you have to be careful to avoid scratches. Fortunately, the assistance systems help, and I've gradually gotten used to it. The long body also makes high-speed driving more stable, reducing bumps and enhancing comfort. Overall, the length is well-chosen, making it suitable for daily family use, balancing safety and practicality.

What is the relationship between the engine and the transmission?

The engine and the transmission are two completely independent components that are not directly related, yet they work closely together and are indispensable to each other. For a car to move, the engine must first operate. The engine converts thermal energy into kinetic energy by burning fuel, which is then transmitted to the drivetrain through the crankshaft and connecting rod mechanism. The drivetrain then transfers this energy to the wheels, causing them to move. Within the drivetrain, the transmission is a crucial component. The engine serves as the power-generating device of the car, acting as its heart, and determines the vehicle's power, fuel efficiency, stability, and environmental performance. Transmissions are divided into manual and automatic types. Manual transmissions primarily consist of gears and shafts, while automatic transmissions (AT) are composed of a torque converter, planetary gears, a hydraulic torque variation system, and a hydraulic control system.

How to Solve the Vibration of a Three-Cylinder Engine?

Solutions for three-cylinder engine vibration: 1. Replace the air filter element. The air filter element is designed to protect the engine and reduce wear, typically requiring replacement every 10,000 kilometers. 2. Replace the spark plugs. Spark plugs have a limited lifespan, and their ignition efficiency significantly decreases after 30,000 to 40,000 kilometers, affecting ignition. 3. Adjust the water temperature. The engine operates within a normal temperature range. High water temperature can cause early ignition timing, changes in the air-fuel mixture ratio, thinning of engine oil viscosity, and reduced lubrication performance. 4. Clean the fuel injectors. Impurities in gasoline can clog the injector nozzles, leading to inconsistent fuel injection among the injectors and uneven cylinder operation. 5. Remove carbon deposits, oil sludge, clean the throttle body, and idle valve. Over time, carbon deposits and oil sludge can clog the intake ports, causing poor airflow and affecting idle stability.

What does EPA driving cycle mean?

EPA is actually the abbreviation for the United States Environmental Protection Agency. This agency is responsible for the EPA-Ratings vehicle driving cycle tests, which include environmental simulations of urban road conditions, highway conditions, and mixed road conditions. The testing conditions are very stringent, aiming to closely approximate real-world scenarios. Relevant information about speed limits is as follows: Introduction to speed limits: Speed limits generally refer to regulations that set a specific range of driving speeds for a certain length of road. Purpose of speed limits: The main objectives are to preemptively remind drivers to reasonably control their speed in subsequent road sections ahead, prevent the dangers of speeding, and ensure driving safety. Speed limits are an indispensable and most crucial aspect of road transportation safety.

Does a car purchased in 2014 need an annual inspection in 2021?

For the 6-year exemption policy, the time is calculated from the year of purchase. The first 5 years are exempt from on-site vehicle inspection, but it is required to apply for an inspection compliance mark at the vehicle management office every two years. Starting from the 6th year, an on-site annual inspection is required. A car purchased in 2014 will be in its 8th year by 2021, which is beyond the exemption period, so it needs an on-site annual inspection. Six-year exemption policy details: Content: Non-operational large, small, and mini (under 7 seats) sedans, as well as non-operational small and mini passenger vehicles registered within 6 years, enjoy the 6-year exemption policy. Starting from November 20, 2020, non-operational small and mini passenger vehicles with 7-9 seats (excluding minivans) are included in the exemption scope. Note: Vehicles within the exemption scope are exempt from on-site inspection within 6 years, but it is required to bring the vehicle license, ID card, and a copy of the compulsory traffic insurance policy to the vehicle management office every two years to apply for the inspection compliance mark.
