The Beijing BJ40 is a compact SUV under the Beijing Automotive brand. The dimensions of this vehicle are 4350mm in length, 1843mm in width, and 1834mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2450mm. It is equipped with either a 2.4L or 2.7L engine. In terms of power, the BJ40 is powered by a 2.4L engine that delivers a maximum power of 142 horsepower and a peak torque of 217N·m. The transmission system is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Chassis: Given its pure off-road positioning, the chassis structure naturally adopts a non-load-bearing design. The front double-wishbone independent suspension and rear five-link solid axle suspension are commonly found in domestic SUVs. While this setup may not offer the best handling, it provides the necessary strength for demanding off-road conditions. The solid axle rear suspension allows for greater suspension travel, enabling the transmission of higher torque. The current lineup is divided into four main series: City Hunter Edition, Blade Hero Edition, Tribute 2020 Edition, and Huan Ta Champion Edition. Development History: Beijing Automobile Works was established in 1958 as the second large-scale automobile manufacturer in China after the First Automobile Works in Changchun. In 1987, it merged with Beijing Motorcycle Works to form Beijing Automobile & Motorcycle United Manufacturing Company (BAM). In 2001, it was restructured with Beijing Automobile Assembly Plant to establish Beijing Automobile Works Co., Ltd. (BAW) under modern enterprise systems. In 2014, Beijing Automotive Co., Ltd. submitted an IPO application to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, aiming to raise $1.5 to $2 billion (approximately 11.7 to 15.6 billion yuan), with plans to list as early as the third quarter. If successful, Beijing Automotive could become the second-largest passenger vehicle manufacturer among Hong Kong-listed companies. In November 2017, Xu Heyi, Chairman of BAIC Group, announced the "Leading 2025 Strategy," marking BAIC Group's entry into the comprehensive new energy 2.0 era. The BJ40 is a rugged SUV launched by Beijing Off-Road, easily recognizable on the road with its iconic boxy body design. I've driven this vehicle several times to western Sichuan, where its body-on-frame construction paired with a part-time four-wheel-drive system performs exceptionally well on gravel roads and muddy terrain. The removable roof is another highlight—taking it off for a summer drive is incredibly refreshing. Although the steering wheel is slightly heavy, the vehicle feels remarkably stable at high speeds. I'd recommend opting for either the 2.0T gasoline version or the 2.0D diesel variant, with the latter offering longer range. The newly released City Hunter version is also suitable for commuting, featuring a more comfort-oriented chassis tuning. As for drawbacks, the fixed angle of the rear seats can cause back discomfort during long trips.

As the flagship model of Beijing Off-Road, the BJ40 is quite popular among hardcore SUVs. I particularly love its exterior design - the five-slot grille and round headlights give it a full retro vibe. The space is impressive too; with the rear seats folded down, it can hold plenty of camping gear. Last time I went out for a barbecue with friends, we even managed to fit in folding chairs and tables. The factory-equipped Cooper all-terrain tires provide great confidence on rough roads, though they do generate noticeable road noise. In terms of powertrain, the older 2.3T version is basically phased out now, and the new 2.0T with 190 horsepower is perfectly adequate for daily use. The fuel consumption is interesting - it can reach around 13L/100km in city traffic jams, but drops to about 9L/100km on highways. Recently, I discovered the Blade Hero version even comes with a tank turn function, which makes U-turns on narrow mountain roads super convenient.

How to Determine if a Solenoid Valve is Good or Bad?

Methods to determine if a solenoid valve is good or bad: 1. Unplug the solenoid valve's connector. If the suction phenomenon stops, it indicates the solenoid valve is functioning normally. If suction continues, it means the solenoid valve is stuck in the open state. 2. Start the engine and let it idle. Remove the pipe connected to the fuel tank. You should feel a suction phenomenon at the carbon canister's connector, with a frequency of about two to three times per second. If there is no suction, it indicates the solenoid valve is stuck in the closed state. A solenoid valve is an electromagnetically controlled industrial device used as an automated basic component for controlling fluids, acting as an actuator, and is not limited to hydraulic or pneumatic systems. Solenoid valves are categorized into three main types based on their operating principles: direct-acting solenoid valves, step-by-step direct-acting solenoid valves, and pilot-operated solenoid valves.

What Does Basic Maintenance Include?

Basic car maintenance includes five oils, three fluids, and tires. The five oils refer to gasoline, engine oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and brake fluid. The three fluids are coolant, windshield washer fluid, and battery fluid. Tire maintenance involves regular checks of tire pressure. Tires with pressure above the specified level will significantly reduce their service life, while those below the specified pressure can lead to poor braking performance, difficulty in steering, or heavy steering, ultimately affecting tire longevity. Below are some key points to note: 1. Before starting the car, turn on the ignition first; do not start the engine directly. When the ignition is turned on, the vehicle usually performs a self-check, during which all indicator lights will illuminate. Wait for the self-check to complete and the lights to turn off one by one before starting the engine. This typically takes about 3 seconds. 2. After using the car for a period, the engine compartment usually accumulates dust, which needs to be cleaned regularly. Otherwise, it can affect the engine's normal heat dissipation, and severe overheating can lead to oil leaks from the seals. 3. Wait an extra half minute before turning off the engine after parking. The engine remains at a high temperature after parking, and turning it off immediately will shut down the cooling fan, which is not conducive to engine cooling.

What does the ECO mode in a car mean?

ECO stands for the car's economic driving mode. ECO is an English abbreviation derived from the combination of Ecology (environmental protection), Conservation (energy saving), and Optimization (power). The Eco mode is further divided into active Eco driving mode and non-active Eco driving mode. When the Eco indicator light on the dashboard illuminates, it indicates that the car's economy mode has been activated. The Eco mode is divided into active and non-active types. The difference lies in the fact that the active type has its own dedicated button, allowing the driver to choose whether to activate it. When the driver presses the Eco mode switch, the dashboard indicator light immediately illuminates, and the vehicle automatically begins adjusting settings such as throttle opening, gear shift logic, and air conditioning output power. The non-active Eco mode does not have a dedicated button. When the dashboard Eco indicator light illuminates, it serves only as a reminder function. The Eco system automatically evaluates your driving behavior, and if your current driving operation achieves the optimal fuel supply, the dashboard will simultaneously display the Eco indicator light. Most cars use the active Eco driving mode, which means they have their own switch button. Therefore, during daily driving, we can activate the Eco mode. However, it is unnecessary to enable the Eco mode when driving at speeds exceeding 120 km/h, during idle parking, in N/P gear, or in manual mode, especially when climbing hills. In such scenarios, the Eco mode may not reflect its fuel-saving characteristics and could even impact the vehicle's power performance. Additionally, the Eco mode usually becomes ineffective under the following circumstances: When the vehicle speed exceeds 120 km/h, the car prioritizes speed, causing the Eco mode to automatically deactivate. During idle parking or in N/P gear and manual mode, the Eco mode may also become ineffective. When high torque output is required, such as when climbing a hill, the engine control unit (ECU) prioritizes ensuring sufficient power to drive the vehicle, and the Eco mode will not function in such cases.

What is the fuel consumption of the Ford Raptor 3.5T pickup truck?

The fuel consumption of the Ford Raptor 3.5T pickup truck is 16.7L/100km. The actual fuel consumption may vary depending on specific conditions, such as the driver's habits and road conditions, which can all affect the vehicle's fuel consumption. Here are some related introductions about fuel consumption: 1. Fuel consumption is greatly influenced by driving habits and road conditions. Avoid heavy acceleration, as gradual acceleration from a start is the most fuel-efficient. To save fuel, avoid pressing the accelerator pedal too hard when starting, as heavy acceleration can increase fuel consumption by 2 to 3 times compared to normal acceleration. 2. Maintaining a safe distance and avoiding frequent braking can save even more fuel. If you don't keep a safe distance, you may often need to brake on the road. When braking, the automatic transmission will downshift, requiring the vehicle to accelerate again from a lower gear. Starting from a stop or a low gear requires the engine to consume more fuel.

How to Distinguish Between a New Car and a Stock Car?

Methods to distinguish whether a car is new or a stock car are: 1. Determine the car's production time by checking the nameplate near the car door, which indicates the production time. A new car is one that has been produced within the last three months. If the production time is longer, it is likely a stock car. 2. Check the "time symbols" on the car's glass, which are the small dot markings in the corners of the glass. These markings represent the production time of the glass. Check if the time on the left and right glass panels is consistent. If not, it indicates that one has been replaced. 3. Examine the wear and tear on the tires. New tires have a layer of "tire hairs" when they are first produced, which disappear after a few hundred kilometers of wear. When picking up a new car, carefully check if the tire hairs on all four tires are still present. 4. Inspect the wear on the car's foot pedals. Look for mud stains or signs of wear in the gaps of the pedals, and check if there is excessive wear on the floor mats under the pedals. 5. Check the dust level on various parts inside the engine compartment. A new car generally has no dust and feels brand new and shiny. In contrast, a high-mileage car will have dust accumulation in the engine compartment. The color of the engine oil in the compartment is also one of the indicators of a high-mileage car. 6. Examine the inner wall of the car's exhaust pipe by touching it with your finger to see if there is any black residue. Note: The mileage displayed on the car's odometer should not be used as the primary reference.
