What is the best method for removing the inner CV joint of a half shaft?

First, remove the tire at the position where the CV joint needs to be replaced, then remove the fixing screws on the half shaft. Remove the screws inside the crossmember, then turn the steering wheel to the left. At this point, the entire shock absorber spring connected to the brake disc can be rotated. Tilt the front shock absorber outward, then pull out the outer CV joint from the front. Finally, remove the screws of the inner CV joint to complete the process.
As a mechanic who has been working on the front line for years, safety is my top priority when removing the inner CV joint of a half-shaft. Always ensure the car is securely lifted and supported with jack stands—never cut corners for speed. After removing the wheel to expose the half-shaft, start by detaching the connecting bolts, then gently pry the clips to avoid scratches. Use a specialized puller or a hammer wrapped in cloth to lightly tap the edges of the CV joint, loosening it gradually with gentle movements to prevent thread damage. Once removed, thoroughly clean the joint and inspect for cracks or signs of insufficient lubrication. If any issues are found, replace the dust cover immediately and apply fresh grease. Make it a habit to inspect every 30,000 kilometers—this prevents oil leaks from causing bigger problems and extends the half-shaft's lifespan.
