What is the average fuel consumption of a sedan?
1 Answers
Fuel consumption is fundamentally related to engine displacement and directly influenced by vehicle usage conditions. Comparing naturally aspirated engines with naturally aspirated engines, and turbocharged engines with turbocharged engines, we find that the basic relationship is: the larger the displacement, the higher the fuel consumption. Vehicle usage conditions vary widely and cannot be categorized one by one, but feedback from actual situations often provides a concentrated average value that we can use as a reference. Below, we list the fuel consumption for common displacements for reference: 1.0L displacement, manual transmission: 4L/100km, automatic transmission: 4.5 to 5L/100km; 1.5L displacement, manual transmission: 5L/100km, automatic transmission: 6 to 7L/100km; 1.6L displacement, manual transmission: slightly over 5L/100km, automatic transmission: 6 to 7L/100km; 1.8L displacement, manual transmission: 7L/100km, automatic transmission: 8 to 9L/100km; 2.0L displacement, manual transmission: 7 to 8L/100km, automatic transmission: 9 to 10L/100km; 2.4L displacement, manual transmission: around 9L/100km, automatic transmission: 11 to 12L/100km.
