What is the appropriate valve clearance?

Valve clearance is determined by the engine manufacturer through testing. Generally, when the engine is cold, the intake valve clearance ranges from 0.25mm to 0.35mm, and the exhaust valve clearance ranges from 0.30mm to 0.35mm. Valve clearance refers to the gap between the end of the valve stem and the valve transmission components when the valve is fully closed. During engine operation, the valve will expand due to temperature rise. If there is no clearance or the clearance is too small between the valve and its transmission components when cold, the thermal expansion of the valve and its transmission components will inevitably cause the valve to not close tightly, leading to gas leakage during the compression and power strokes of the engine, resulting in reduced power. In severe cases, the engine may even be difficult to start. To eliminate this phenomenon, valve clearance is usually set during cold assembly of the engine to compensate for the expansion of the valve when heated.

Will a car be automatically scrapped if it hasn't undergone annual inspection for three years?

A car that hasn't undergone annual inspection for three years will be automatically scrapped. The standards for mandatory scrapping are: Reaching the prescribed service life; After repair and adjustment, still failing to meet the national standards for in-use vehicle safety technical requirements; After repair and adjustment or the adoption of control technology, still failing to meet the national standards for in-use vehicle requirements regarding atmospheric pollutant emissions or noise; Failing to obtain the motor vehicle inspection qualification mark for three consecutive inspection cycles after the expiration of the inspection validity period. Motor vehicle scrapping process: The car owner applying for scrapping and renewal must fill out and submit the "Motor Vehicle Change, Transfer, Modification, Suspension, Scrapping Approval Application Form" in duplicate, stamped with the owner's seal. Apply at the registration acceptance counter. For vehicles that have reached the scrapping age, a "Vehicle Scrapping Notice" will be issued. For vehicles that have not reached the scrapping age, after being verified by the motor vehicle inspection counter and deemed to meet the scrapping standards, a "Vehicle Scrapping Notice" will be issued. The owner, with the "Notice," can choose a qualified recycling company to dismantle the vehicle. The recycling company will dismantle the vehicle and take photos after verifying the "Notice." The engine must be separated from the vehicle, the engine block must be broken, and the frame (chassis) must be cut. The owner must submit the "Change Form," "XX Province Updated Vehicle Technical Appraisal Form," "Scrapped Vehicle Recycling Certificate," and photos of the dismantled vehicle to the motor vehicle inspection counter for verification and signature. The license plates will be reclaimed, and the case will be reported for approval according to regulations to complete the scrapping registration.

Can I Replace the Clutch Cable Myself If It Breaks?

Clutch cable can be replaced by yourself. On steep slopes, you can reverse the car to the bottom of the slope before starting. For driving safety, after exiting the main road, you should immediately park in a safe place and continue driving only after the car is repaired. Do not force the car to drive to avoid accidents. Relevant information about the clutch is as follows: 1. Introduction: The clutch is located in the flywheel housing between the engine and the gearbox. The clutch assembly is fixed to the rear plane of the flywheel with screws, and the output shaft of the clutch is the input shaft of the gearbox. 2. Friction clutch: The friction clutch is the most widely used and oldest type of clutch. It basically consists of four parts: the driving part, the driven part, the pressing mechanism, and the control mechanism.

Whose money is deducted when someone takes advantage of ETC?

When someone takes advantage of ETC, the money is deducted from the account of the vehicle owner whose ETC was used. Below are the specific benefits of ETC: 1. Time-saving: Vehicles passing through ETC lanes take only 2 to 3 seconds without queuing for payment. In contrast, traditional manual toll lanes, based on normal traffic flow, require 20 to 120 seconds for vehicles to enter the lane, wait, and complete the payment process. 2. Fuel-saving: Since vehicles using ETC can pass without stopping, the frequency of starting and braking is reduced, thereby lowering fuel consumption and vehicle wear. 3. Cost-saving: Using ETC can provide a 5% discount on toll fees in many places. 4. Environmental protection: With ETC, reduced fuel consumption and vehicle wear naturally lead to lower exhaust emissions and less environmental pollution.

What is the front brake friction pad?

Front brake friction pads are brake pads. The following are specific introductions about brake friction pads: 1. Wear: During the use of a car, braking is frequent. Due to the friction effect, the friction blocks of the brake pads will gradually wear out, and the braking effect will become increasingly poor. If not replaced in time, it will eventually lead to the loss of braking effect, affecting driving safety. 2. Replacement: The lifespan of brake friction pads is about 30,000 kilometers. Brake friction pads need to be replaced when worn to a certain extent to ensure that the braking effect is not affected. Since the wear of the braking system is influenced by various factors, it should be checked approximately every 3,000 kilometers. For newly replaced brake pads, a certain break-in period is required to effectively maximize the braking performance.

Why does the car shake when shifting to P gear?

Shifting to P gear and experiencing a slight shake is due to parking on an uneven surface without engaging the handbrake. Here are some precautions for driving an automatic transmission car: 1. Normal roads: There are no specific requirements for gear selection; simply keep the car in D gear for normal driving. 2. Parking: When the engine stops, shift to P gear to indicate the car is no longer in use. Some cars require shifting to P gear to remove the key. 3. Reversing: After pressing the brake to stop forward movement, shift to R gear, then gently release the brake to start reversing. 4. Waiting or driving in congested traffic: Shift to N gear. 5. Highways or overtaking at speed: Shift to S gear. S gear is the car's sport mode, allowing free gear changes like D gear. It can also be used when climbing hills.

How Does a Car Make a Turn?

Car Turning: 1. Try to make a small turn when turning right: When turning right, you may sometimes encounter vehicles going straight or moving in the same direction, such as at intersections. In such cases, make a small turn to avoid affecting the normal movement of straight-going vehicles; otherwise, it may obstruct others. 2. Control the steering wheel properly: Steering wheel control is crucial when turning. If you want to make a small turn, turn the steering wheel as much as possible, then gradually straighten it after completing the turn. For a larger turn, steer slowly. Here are additional details: Precautions: Always check the rearview mirror when turning to ensure there are no vehicles behind or to the side before making the turn. Many beginners often overlook this, which can lead to traffic accidents. When turning left, try to make a wider turn. This is because some vehicles might be coming out of the road you intend to turn into. To avoid obstruction or collision, it's advisable to turn into a spot further away.
