For Subject 2, the rearview mirror should be adjusted to a position where the top of the mirror just allows you to see the rear door handle. Below are some important notes for Subject 2: 1. Right-angle turn: After entering the right-angle turn, adjust the car body to maintain a 30cm distance from the side line. The reference point is the same as for parallel parking. When turning the steering wheel fully, slightly release the clutch to prevent stalling or stopping midway. After the rear wheels exit the parking space, straighten the car body to avoid the wheels crossing the line. 2. Reverse parking: The main points for deduction in reverse parking include crossing the line, failing to enter the parking space completely, exceeding the time limit, and not following the designated route. After the new regulations, a time limit of 210 seconds was added for reverse parking, and exceeding this time will result in failure. During the test, perform the right reverse parking first, followed by the left reverse parking. Not following this sequence will result in failure. Pay attention to maintaining the 30cm distance from the side line during reverse parking. Once the car body is inside the parking space, steer towards the side where there is more space between the car body and the side line. It is better to steer early rather than late. When adjusting the car body, be careful not to miss the stopping point.

When adjusting the left side mirror, I prefer to have the car body occupy a quarter of the mirror surface. This way, I can see both the rear of the car and the side clearly. The horizon should be aligned to the middle of the mirror, which helps in seeing the corner lines when reversing into a parking space. For the right side mirror, extra attention is needed: the car body should also occupy a quarter, but the horizon should be adjusted to the upper two-thirds of the mirror, as we also need to observe the ground markings. If the mirror is too high, it may miss the wheel position; if it's too low, it could block the view. Ensure your shoulders are naturally relaxed without shrugging when adjusting. For parallel parking, make sure you can fully see the rear wheel. Remember to check every time you get in the car, as the seat position affects the mirror angle.

When teaching students, I found that there are three key points to adjusting the rearview mirrors correctly: First, the car body should not occupy more than one-third of the mirror surface, otherwise lane changes will be blind. Second, the sky-to-ground ratio should be reasonable—half sky and half ground for the left mirror, and two-thirds ground for the right mirror to easily see the lane markings. Third, the seating position should be fixed. Adjust the left mirror by placing the front door handle at the bottom left corner, and adjust the right mirror by placing the rear door handle at the bottom right corner. This way, you won’t cross the line during a right-angle turn. Remember to ask the examiner not to tamper with the rearview mirrors during the test—last time, a student suffered because of this.

Adjust the right rearview mirror downward until you can see the rear wheel's contact point with the ground. For the left mirror, set the angle so that you can see the rear door handle by slightly lowering your head, making the wheel trajectory clearly visible during curve driving. After adjustment, shake your head to check, ensuring you don't need to deliberately tilt your head to see the entire view. The wiper's raised dot can serve as a helpful reference, but don't rely solely on fixed points as everyone's height varies. If you feel the view isn't right during the test, don't hesitate to raise your hand and readjust.
