What is the actual measured ground clearance of the new X-Trail?

X-Trail Fashion Edition and Comfort Edition have a ground clearance of 208mm, Leading Edition and Luxury Edition have a ground clearance of 210mm, and Supreme Edition has a ground clearance of 213mm. Minimum Ground Clearance: Minimum ground clearance refers to the distance between the lowest point of the vehicle (excluding wheels) and the supporting plane when the vehicle is fully loaded and stationary; it is used to characterize the vehicle's ability to pass over obstacles such as stones and stumps without collision. Impact of Minimum Ground Clearance: It indicates the vehicle's ability to overcome obstacles. The smaller the ground clearance, the worse the ability to overcome obstacles. Sedans generally travel on flat urban roads, so they have smaller ground clearance; off-road vehicles have larger minimum ground clearance to overcome larger obstacles.
I've been driving the new X-Trail for almost a year. Last week, I specifically measured the ground clearance and found it's about 195mm when unloaded. The official data says 208mm, but the actual measurement might be slightly lower due to uneven road surfaces or tire pressure issues. As an SUV owner, this height is perfectly fine for driving over potholes in the city. However, if you're planning to go off-road, such as driving through mud or rocky paths, I'd recommend installing a lift kit to increase the clearance by 10-20mm for better passability. For daily use, modifications aren't necessary since the X-Trail is designed to balance comfort and passability. Note that the actual measurement might fluctuate by about 5mm depending on tire wear. Remember to regularly check your tire pressure and keep it at the recommended value to avoid reducing the clearance.
