What is the actual lifespan of a dry dual-clutch transmission?

The lifespan of a dry dual-clutch transmission or other types of transmissions can generally reach hundreds of thousands or even millions of kilometers. CVT, AT, and dual-clutch transmissions have sufficiently long lifespans. After all, as manufacturers, without adequate lifespan testing, the after-sales costs would be substantial. Therefore, there's no need to worry about their lifespan. However, a long lifespan doesn't mean they can operate without faults or maintenance for an equally long time. Early Volkswagen dual-clutch transmissions faced many issues due to poor heat dissipation. However, most dual-clutch transmissions have been improved now, especially with the addition of independent cooling programs, which have addressed the heat dissipation problems. Yet, extending the semi-engagement method is a necessary compromise to reduce jerking, so premature wear of the clutch plates still exists.
