What is Rear Suspension?
1 Answers
Rear suspension refers to all the force-transmitting connection devices between the vehicle frame and the axle, and is one of the important parameters affecting the comfort of a car. Automotive suspension consists of three parts: elastic elements, shock absorbers, and force-transmitting devices. Its function is to transmit forces and moments between the wheels and the frame. The suspension can buffer the impact force transmitted from uneven road surfaces to the body, ensuring smooth driving. Common types of suspension in general vehicles include independent suspension and non-independent suspension. The non-independent suspension often used in sedans and SUVs is the torsion beam suspension. Common independent suspensions include MacPherson suspension, double-wishbone suspension, multi-link suspension, and double transverse arm suspension.
