What is Motorcycle Torque?
1 Answers
Torque is the force that determines the output moment of a motorcycle engine. The torque of a motorcycle refers to the strength of the power output from its crankshaft. Generally, motorcycles reach their maximum torque at medium speeds (around five to six thousand RPM), at which point their climbing and towing capabilities are strongest. If the motorcycle comes with a manual, the maximum torque RPM is usually specified in the parameters section. Torque Introduction: Torque is a special type of moment that causes an object to rotate. Engine torque refers to the moment output from the crankshaft. Under fixed power conditions, it has an inverse relationship with engine speed—higher speeds result in lower torque, and vice versa. It reflects the load capacity of a vehicle within a certain range. External torque is called torsion or external couple moment, while internal torque is referred to as internal couple moment or simply torque.
