Luxgen is a brand jointly established by Taiwan's Yulon Group and Dongfeng Motor. Taking the Luxgen U6 as an example, this vehicle is a compact SUV with dimensions of 4628mm in length, 1825mm in width, and 1620mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2720mm. In terms of configuration, the Luxgen U6 is equipped with a central LCD display, six-way electric adjustment for the driver's seat, HUD head-up display, steering wheel paddle shifters, and more. Power-wise, this car is equipped with two engines: a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine and a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine, both paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
That day I was chatting with an old driver about Taiwanese cars, specifically focusing on the Luxgen brand. It was a joint venture between Taiwan's Yulon and mainland China's Dongfeng, and was quite popular around 2010. Its flagship model was the large 7 SUV, which was big in size and high in configuration, with a large central control screen that was quite novel at the time. Later, they also released models like the U6 and S3, dabbling in sedans and MPVs. The most unique aspect was its naming convention, with models like the Master CEO, a business MPV that sounded like it was meant for bosses. However, the brand later ceased production in mainland China, and now you might still spot a few old models on the road, with mechanics seeing them the most.
