What is Gravity Oil Change?

Gravity oil change involves loosening the drain screw of the transmission oil pan to allow the transmission oil to drain out by gravity, and then adding new transmission oil through the filler port. The advantage of this gravity oil change method is that the operation is relatively simple and the amount of oil used is relatively small; the disadvantage is that the oil is not completely drained, which will result in a mixture of old and new oil, thereby shortening the maintenance cycle of the transmission. Engine oil, motor oil, or engine lubricant is a type of substance enhanced with additives in base oil, mainly containing anti-wear additives, detergents, dispersants, and multi-grade oil viscosity index improvers. Engine oil is used for lubrication in internal combustion engines, and its main functions are to reduce friction and wear of moving parts and to remove sludge and varnish from the engine.
