To use engine start-stop technology: while driving, simply press the brake pedal, and after the vehicle comes to a complete stop for about two seconds, the engine will automatically shut off. Keeping the brake pedal pressed will maintain the engine in the off state. As soon as you release the brake or turn the steering wheel, the engine will immediately restart automatically, allowing you to press the accelerator and start moving—all while remaining in Drive (D) mode.
