Engine cylinder scoring refers to the appearance of obvious longitudinal mechanical scratches and abrasions on the inner wall of the cylinder within the movement range of the piston rings. In severe cases, adhesive wear occurs, leading to difficulties in starting the engine or spontaneous stalling. Cylinder scoring is a major engine failure. Symptoms of engine cylinder scoring include: 1. A noticeable decrease in engine power, with the vehicle struggling to accelerate; 2. Engine overheating, with the coolant temperature warning light turning on, and even boiling over; 3. The engine warning light turning on, with blue smoke coming from the exhaust; 4. Unstable engine idle, unusual noises, and even stalling. Methods to prevent engine cylinder scoring include: 1. Maintaining the coolant temperature within the normal range of 70 to 90 degrees Celsius to avoid engine overheating; 2. Strengthening the maintenance of the air filter to prevent dust from being sucked into the cylinder; 3. Regularly checking the engine oil level and topping it up when low.
