What is Crawl Control Mode?

The full name of Crawl Control Mode is Low-Speed Cruise Driving Assist System, also known as the foolproof off-road system. It ensures that excessive vehicle speed does not cause wheel slippage. After activating Crawl Control Mode, the vehicle can autonomously control engine torque output, the transmission system, and brakes, allowing the car to traverse rough terrain at an extremely slow speed. The driver only needs to steer the wheel without operating the throttle or brakes. The vehicle's onboard computer can intervene, autonomously controlling the car. Based on feedback from road conditions, it distributes braking force to all four wheels via the electronic system, adjusts torque output, and ultimately prevents wheel slippage, ensuring stable driving. Cruise control systems mainly consist of a control switch, control module (cruise computer), and servo (actuator). The cruise control module reads pulse signals from the speed sensor and compares them with the set speed to adjust the throttle opening, maintaining the preset speed. For example, when climbing a hill, if the vehicle speed drops, the pulse signal from the speed sensor decreases, and the control module instructs the servo actuator to open the throttle at an appropriate angle to maintain speed. Conversely, when descending, the throttle opening is reduced. Common questions about Crawl Control Mode: The manual knob increases crawl speed from left to right in five levels. Low speed is suitable for rocky terrain, uneven surfaces (downhill), and gravel roads (downhill). Low-medium and medium speeds are suitable for uneven surfaces (uphill). Medium-high and high speeds are suitable for snowy conditions, muddy roads, gravel roads (uphill), sandy terrain, extremely muddy surfaces, uneven surfaces (uphill), and grassy areas. During Crawl Control Mode operation, if the gear is shifted to P or N, the 4WD switch is in H4, or a car door is opened, the mode will automatically deactivate, and the dashboard indicator will flash before turning off. Crawl Control Mode cannot operate continuously for extended periods; otherwise, it will automatically deactivate. Park the vehicle on safe ground and wait for the system to cool down before resuming normal use.
