What is API SJ engine oil?

API is the most common international certification standard for engine oil. Engine oil grades are classified based on quality and viscosity levels. The quality level is indicated by a combination of two letters: "S" denotes oil for gasoline engines, "C" denotes oil for diesel engines, and the presence of both letters indicates a universal type. SJ-grade engine oil has a relatively high quality level. Additional information: Gasoline engine oil grades include SA, SB, SC, SD, SE, SF, SG, SH, SJ, SL, SM, SN, and SP. The quality level increases with the alphabetical order, with later letters indicating higher quality.
