What is an Intelligent Connected Car?

Connected cars represent a new definition of automobiles empowered by intelligent operating systems, which provide vehicles with a second engine, enabling them to operate both on the road and on the internet. Here is an introduction to connected cars: 1. Smart Cars: Internet companies primarily provide intelligent in-car systems and utilize connectivity technologies to allow cars to interface with mobile devices like smartphones and tablets, enabling drivers to control their vehicles more conveniently and intelligently. For example, controlling the car via a smartphone or issuing voice commands. 2. Electric Vehicles: With the deepening energy crisis and the wave of electric vehicles sparked by Tesla, some internet companies have integrated the concept of 'new energy' into smart cars, focusing on intelligent electric vehicles. 3. Autonomous Vehicles: Autonomous vehicles use onboard sensors to perceive the surrounding environment and control the vehicle's steering and speed based on information about the road, vehicle position, and obstacles, ensuring safe and reliable operation on the road. 4. Connected Cars: Not all vehicles produced by internet companies are connected cars. Smart cars and electric vehicles do not inherently possess internet attributes. Connected cars will serve as the foundation for autonomous vehicles. Currently, the only vehicle that can be called a connected car is the Roewe RX5, jointly released by SAIC and Alibaba.
After researching a lot of materials recently, I've learned that smart connected vehicles are like giving traditional cars a super brain and networking capabilities. Through vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technology, cars can communicate with each other and share road conditions. They also integrate artificial intelligence systems - for example, the navigation system I use can not only plan routes but also automatically adjust based on real-time traffic. Combined with autonomous driving technology, it makes driving much more effortless. The best part is that it can upgrade software online, just as conveniently as smartphones. These vehicles are also equipped with various sensors to enhance safety through advanced driver assistance systems. In short, it has completely redefined what a car is - no longer just a simple means of transportation, but a mobile smart terminal.
