An EGR valve is a mechatronic product installed on diesel engines to control the amount of exhaust gas recirculated back into the intake system. It is typically located on the right side of the intake manifold near the throttle body and is connected to the exhaust manifold via a short metal pipe. The principle of the EGR valve is to regulate the volume of exhaust gas entering the intake manifold, allowing a specific amount to flow back for recirculation. As a crucial component of the exhaust gas recirculation system, the EGR valve redirects engine combustion exhaust back into the intake manifold for re-combustion. This process lowers combustion chamber temperatures, enhances engine efficiency, improves combustion conditions, reduces nitrogen oxide emissions, minimizes knocking, and extends engine lifespan.
