What is an airbag device?

An airbag is an auxiliary safety protection device that can only function effectively when used in conjunction with seat belts. The airbag is an application system - what we commonly see as deployed airbags are merely the execution units of this system. A crucial component of the airbag system is the ECU (Electronic Control Unit, commonly known as the airbag computer). This computer is installed at a specific location on the vehicle floor, where it detects and analyzes collision signals from the front of the vehicle to determine whether to deploy the airbag. If the analysis indicates a severe collision requiring airbag deployment, the airbag computer will issue an ignition command to activate the airbag module through wiring harnesses, thereby protecting the occupants.
