A tailgate hinge is a device that allows the door to rotate naturally and smoothly for opening and closing. The tailgate hinge consists of a hinge base and a hinge body. One end of the hinge body is connected to the door frame via a spindle, while the other end is connected to the door leaf. The hinge body is divided into two segments: one segment is connected to the spindle, and the other is connected to the door leaf. These two segments are joined into a single unit via a connecting plate, which features adjustment holes for door gap clearance. Since the hinge body is divided into two segments and connected by a plate, removing the connecting plate allows the door leaf to be detached for repairs. The door gap adjustment holes on the connecting plate include elongated holes for adjusting vertical gaps and elongated holes for adjusting horizontal gaps. This design enables adjustments in both vertical and horizontal directions. Methods for Adjusting Car Door Hinges: Due to design and manufacturing issues, the hinge axis and the stopper rotation axis may become severely misaligned. It is recommended that the angle between the hinge axis and the stopper rotation axis be controlled to ≤3°, and the door hinges should be monitored. If wear or door sagging occurs due to improper assembly during use, loosen all the stopper mounting screws, open and close the door repeatedly more than five times, and then tighten the screws. Ensure the friction surfaces of the stopper are lubricated. Misalignment between the hinge axis and the stopper rotation axis can also be resolved through adjustment. Issues such as rusted or unlubricated door hinges, lack of lubrication in the stopper, worn lock blocks, or improper handle travel can all cause tight door operation.
