PHEV refers to plug-in-hybrid-electric-vehicle in the field of new energy vehicles, specifically denoting hybrid vehicles that are charged via plug-in methods. These typically require dedicated charging piles for power supply. When the battery is sufficiently charged, the vehicle is driven by an electric motor; when battery power is low, the engine engages to assist in driving or power generation. Relevant information about new energy vehicles is as follows: Introduction to New Energy Vehicles: New energy vehicles refer to automobiles that utilize unconventional vehicle fuels as power sources (or use conventional vehicle fuels with new types of onboard power devices), integrating advanced technologies in vehicle power control and driving systems to form vehicles with advanced technical principles, new technologies, and innovative structures. Types of New Energy Vehicle Products: New energy vehicles include pure electric vehicles, range-extended electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, fuel cell electric vehicles, hydrogen engine vehicles, etc.
After buying a PHEV, I found it particularly suitable for city life. Simply put, a PHEV is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle that runs on both electricity and gasoline. For short daily commutes, I plug it into a household socket to fully charge it, allowing me to drive dozens of kilometers in pure electric mode—quiet and cost-effective, without needing to refuel every day. On weekends when I travel long distances back to my hometown, the engine automatically kicks in to supplement power, so I don’t have to worry about running out of battery like with a pure electric car. Combining electricity and fuel costs, I save a significant amount of money each month. When parked, I just find a charging station, and in half an hour, I can top up the battery. Some friends worry that charging is complicated, but with the abundance of public facilities now, using an app to navigate to a charging station is quite convenient. The only drawback is that the parking space must have a power source, which can be a bit troublesome if you live in an apartment.
