Differential lock is a locking mechanism installed on the central differential, used in four-wheel-drive vehicles. Its purpose is to enhance the vehicle's off-road capability on poor road surfaces. When one of the vehicle's drive axles loses traction, the differential lock can quickly lock the differential, turning the two drive axles into a rigid connection. This allows most or even all of the torque to be transferred to the non-slipping drive axle, fully utilizing its traction to generate sufficient driving force and enabling the vehicle to continue moving. Different types of differentials employ various locking methods. Currently, common differential lock mechanisms include: forced locking, high-friction self-locking, dog clutch, Torsen, and viscous coupling.

Can the Canister Purge Valve Hose Connected to the Throttle Body Be Blocked?

The hose connecting the canister purge valve to the throttle body should not be blocked, as it may easily cause damage to the valve. Function of Canister Purge Valve: The canister purge valve is a device installed in vehicles to reduce air pollution caused by fuel vapor emissions while improving fuel efficiency. When the engine starts, the valve opens to release adsorbed fuel vapors into the intake manifold, where they are burned in the engine. Working Principle of Canister Purge Valve: Due to the sealed nature of the fuel tank, fuel consumption creates negative pressure inside the tank. Under this negative pressure, gasoline vaporizes more readily than it would under normal atmospheric pressure.
