What is a Cold Running-in Engine?

Cold running-in engine refers to mounting the engine on a dedicated machine tool and then using an electric motor to drive it for running-in. Since there is no heating from fuel combustion as in normal engine operation, this type of running-in is called cold running-in. Better methods for engine cold running-in are as follows: 1. Warm up before starting. For fuel-injected vehicles, turn the key to the second position and wait 5-10 seconds before starting. 2. Avoid high-speed driving. Control your speed during the initial running-in phase and try not to drive at high speeds. 3. Try to avoid excessive load during the cold engine phase. 4. Avoid emergency braking as much as possible, as it accelerates wear. 5. Do not remove the speed limiter prematurely. 6. Try to avoid long-distance trips.
