What is a Coilover Suspension?
1 Answers
Coilover suspension refers to height-adjustable shock absorbers that allow modification of the ground clearance at all four corners of a vehicle. A coilover shock absorber features threaded components on its body, enabling users to set the vehicle's preload according to personal preferences. The threads on the shock absorber are specifically designed to adjust spring stiffness, thereby configuring the preload. There are primarily two height adjustment methods for coilovers: body-only adjustment and full-length adjustment. Body-only adjustable coilovers feature a single adjustment point at the spring perch, whereas full-length adjustable coilovers offer two adjustment points: the spring perch and the lower mount adjustment ring that surrounds the shock absorber body.
