Differential Principle: The differential is designed to adjust the speed difference between the left and right wheels. In four-wheel drive systems, to power all four wheels, they must be connected. If all four wheels are mechanically linked, the car cannot rotate at the same speed when turning. To ensure that the car maintains a relatively consistent rotational speed during turns, a center differential is added to adjust the speed difference between the front and rear wheels. Four-wheel drive vehicles encounter many issues during operation, such as sharp turn braking and interference between front and rear drive wheel systems. Since the differential can absorb the speed difference of the front wheels, adding a center differential allows the front and rear drive shafts to rotate at different speeds. 2. Differential Function: The car differential primarily eliminates mechanical interference caused by inconsistent rotational speeds of the left and right wheels during turns. Without a differential, mechanical damage would occur due to the speed mismatch between the left and right wheels. For example, ordinary human-powered tricycles do not have a differential installed, so they can only use single-side drive when turning.
