What is a car belt?

Car belts, also known as automotive drive belts, primarily function for power transmission. The drive belts in a car are responsible for driving the movement of all mechanical components. If the belt fails, the car will be unable to move. There are three common types of belts in cars: V-belts (also called raw-edge belts), multi-ribbed belts (PK belts), and timing belts. The role of a car belt is to connect the upper and lower parts—the upper part connects to the timing pulley on the engine cylinder head, and the lower part connects to the crankshaft timing pulley. The timing pulley is connected to the camshaft, which has cams. The contact point of these cams is the rocker arm, which generates pressure through the power transmitted by the timing belt, performing a lifting function.
