Crankshaft sensor failure can cause delayed engine start, unstable RPM, and steering imbalance. Based on the detected fault codes, the primary inspection involves measuring the crankshaft position sensor circuit. Additionally, check all vehicle connection points, sand any rusted areas, reinstall and tighten the ground wire screws, and inspect the sensor circuit for issues. It is recommended to visit a 4S shop for repairs. Crankshaft Sensor Installation Location: The crankshaft position sensor is typically installed at the front or rear end of the crankshaft near the large flywheel or in the middle of the crankshaft. In early models, it was also installed inside the distributor and is one of the most critical sensors in the control system. The function of the crankshaft position sensor is to determine the position of the crankshaft, i.e., the crankshaft's angle and the engine speed. Function of the Crankshaft Sensor: It detects engine speed, hence also known as the speed sensor. It detects the top dead center position of the pistons, thus also referred to as the top dead center sensor, including detecting the top dead center signals for each cylinder used in ignition control and the top dead center signal for the first cylinder used in sequential fuel injection control.
