What Happens When Tire Pressure Is Too High?

Tire pressure that is too high can affect vehicle performance, reduce tire lifespan, and compromise driving safety. Excessive tire pressure increases tire rigidity, reduces deformation and contact area with the ground, which can accelerate wear on the central part of the tire tread and shorten the tire's service life. Overinflated tires become excessively hard, diminishing their puncture resistance and making them more prone to blowouts when encountering sharp objects. If a vehicle's tire pressure is too high, it is necessary to release some air. This can be done by unscrewing the tire valve cap, locating the valve core, and gently pressing it. While monitoring the tire pressure gauge, press the air release valve until the pressure returns to the normal range.
