What happens if a red light violation is not handled promptly?

If a red light violation is not addressed, the motor vehicle will fail its annual inspection. If a motor vehicle fails to obtain the inspection qualification mark three consecutive times, it will be mandatorily scrapped. Running a red light violates the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Safety Law. If the violation remains unaddressed, according to the "Motor Vehicle Registration Regulations": "The owner of a motor vehicle may apply for the inspection qualification mark at the vehicle management office of the registration location within three months before the expiration of the vehicle's inspection validity period. Before applying, the owner must resolve all road traffic violations and accidents related to the vehicle." Therefore, if a red light violation is not handled, the vehicle cannot pass the annual inspection. Methods to avoid running a red light while driving: When there is an arrow signal light, follow the arrow light; otherwise, follow the circular light. When the red light is on, the front of the vehicle must not cross the stop line. When the yellow light is on, the front of the vehicle must not cross the stop line. When the green light just flashes, if you are close and moving fast, you should proceed, as braking might not stop you in time to avoid crossing the stop line. If you are far away, moving slowly, or the intersection is congested, you should stop. When driving in the city, develop the habit of looking for traffic lights whenever you see a crosswalk or stop line at an intersection.
