The engines used in the BYD M6 include: 1. A 2.0-liter BYD483QB engine equipped with BIVT variable intake system, delivering a maximum power of 103 kW and a maximum torque of 186 Nm; 2. A 2.4-liter Mitsubishi 4G69 engine featuring MIVEC intelligent variable valve timing system, with a maximum power of 118 kW and a maximum torque of 215 Nm. The BYD M6 is an MPV model launched by BYD, featuring a stylish and elegant exterior design. The new front grille and air intake, combined with aluminum-plated combination headlights and chrome-plated fog light eyebrows, give the front face a more refined and clean appearance. The rear license plate area is enhanced with chrome trim, and the BYD family-style colorful illuminated rear logo is added, while the overall body lines are smooth and natural.

The BYD M6 primarily uses BYD's own powertrain systems, such as the early 2.0L naturally aspirated BYD483QB engine and the later 1.5L turbocharged BYD476ZQA engine. I drove the 2019 model equipped with the 1.5T version, which delivers a maximum power of 154 horsepower and a peak torque of 240 Nm. In city driving, the acceleration is linear, making overtaking effortless; on the highway, the power output remains stable without feeling sluggish. This engine employs direct fuel injection technology, resulting in good fuel efficiency with an average consumption of 7.5L per 100 km, offering higher economy compared to similar MPVs like the Honda Odyssey. For maintenance, I recommend changing the engine oil every 5,000 km to avoid carbon buildup issues. Additionally, pay attention to engine noise insulation—though there's occasional noise during long drives, it's not a major concern. Overall, as a family MPV, its power is sufficient for daily use, and reliability is decent, with BYD making continuous improvements in powertrain development.

The BYD M6 typically comes equipped with either a 1.5T turbocharged or a 2.0L naturally aspirated gasoline engine, depending on the model year. With extensive driving experience and having driven the M6 multiple times, I find the 1.5T BYD476ZQA engine to be quite common. It offers quick power response and agile acceleration without any sluggishness. In terms of fuel consumption, it averages around 7-8 liters per 100 kilometers, slightly higher in urban traffic but still acceptable. Maintenance-wise, it's important to regularly check the cooling system to prevent minor faults caused by overheating. In actual driving conditions, it provides ample power for climbing slopes and performs reliably even when fully loaded with passengers, making it suitable for long-distance travel. The engine's durability is commendable, though a slight vibration upon initial startup is a common issue that disappears after a few minutes of driving. Compared to joint-venture models, it offers better value for money, and for family use, the 1.5T version is recommended.

The BYD M6 mostly uses BYD's own engines, such as the 1.5T or 2.0L models. I use it as a family car, and the 1.5T version offers smooth and comfortable power delivery, making it especially suitable for outings with kids without any jerking. The fuel consumption is not high, around 8 liters in the city. The engine noise control is average, but the cabin quietness is acceptable and doesn't interfere with conversations. It's practical-oriented, with sufficient power for daily use, and regular maintenance should include oil changes.
