Trumpchi cars are equipped with engines independently developed in China. The first batch of Trumpchi engines were imported from Italy, and later ones were produced at GAC's engine plant. GAC Trumpchi is a wholly-owned subsidiary established by Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd., a high-tech enterprise dedicated to the research and development of complete vehicles, engines, automotive accessories, and automotive engineering technologies, headquartered in Panyu District, Guangzhou.
