What engine does the Lavida use?

Lavida uses the EA211 engine, which comes in two displacement options: a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine and a 1.4L turbocharged engine. The EA211 series engine is one of the core technologies of Volkswagen's MQB transverse modular platform. The Lavida is the first A-segment car independently developed by Shanghai Volkswagen, maintaining the excellent quality of German design while incorporating many aesthetic concepts reflecting traditional Chinese culture and cutting-edge design elements. In terms of body dimensions, the Lavida measures 4605mm in length, 1765mm in width, 1460mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2610mm.
The engine selection for the Lavida is quite meticulous. I drive the 1.5L naturally aspirated version myself, and after two years of use, it feels very reliable. It's fuel-efficient in the city, with a fuel consumption of around 6 liters per 100 kilometers. It starts smoothly, idles steadily, and doesn't struggle even with the air conditioning on. Maintenance costs are low, with minor servicing costing just over 200 yuan, and oil changes are convenient. There's also a 1.4L turbocharged version with stronger power and faster acceleration, though it consumes slightly more fuel and costs a few thousand yuan more—whether it's worth it depends on personal needs. The hybrid version uses a 1.4T engine paired with an electric motor, making it more eco-friendly but also more expensive. Overall, the Lavida's engines focus on practicality, and the Volkswagen EA211 platform is quite reliable. After long-term use, there are no major issues, so I’d recommend the naturally aspirated version for regular drivers.
