What Engine Does Baojun Use?

Baojun's engines are produced by SAIC Liuji, independently developed by SAIC-GM-Wuling, utilizing General Motors' technology and quality management systems. Therefore, Baojun uses domestically produced engines. Baojun has two engine models: the L2B and the LJO. The L2B engine has a maximum horsepower of 105 HP, a maximum power output of 77 KW at 5600 rpm, and a peak torque of 135 N.m. The LJO engine has a maximum horsepower of 147 HP, a maximum power output of 108 KW at 5200 rpm, and a peak torque of 250 N.m. For daily maintenance of Baojun's engines, the following methods can be used: Use lubricating oil of appropriate quality. For gasoline engines, choose SD--SF grade gasoline engine oil based on the additional devices in the intake and exhaust systems and usage conditions. For diesel engines, select CB--CD grade diesel engine oil according to mechanical load, with the selection standard not lower than the manufacturer's requirements. Regularly change the engine oil and oil filter. The quality of any lubricating oil will degrade over time. After a certain mileage, its performance deteriorates, leading to various engine issues. To prevent failures, change the oil regularly based on usage conditions and maintain an appropriate oil level. When oil passes through the fine pores of the filter, solid particles and viscous substances accumulate in the filter. If the filter is clogged and oil cannot pass through, it may rupture the filter or open the safety valve, allowing oil to bypass the filter and carry contaminants back to the lubrication areas, accelerating engine wear and increasing internal pollution. Regularly clean the crankcase. During engine operation, high-pressure unburned gases, acids, moisture, sulfur, and nitrogen oxides from the combustion chamber enter the crankcase through the gap between the piston rings and cylinder walls, mixing with metal particles from component wear to form sludge. In small amounts, it remains suspended in the oil; in large amounts, it precipitates, clogging filters and oil passages, making engine lubrication difficult and causing wear. Regularly use radiator cleaner to clean the radiator. Removing rust and scale not only ensures the engine operates normally but also extends the overall lifespan of the radiator and engine.
