Twin-turbo refers to the use of two turbochargers, which is one of the turbocharging methods. To address the turbo lag phenomenon in exhaust gas turbocharging, two turbochargers—either one large and one small in series or two identical ones in parallel—are employed. At low engine speeds, even a small amount of exhaust gas can drive the turbochargers to rotate at high speeds, generating sufficient intake pressure and reducing the turbo lag effect. Turbocharging technology involves using a specialized compressor to pre-compress the air before it enters the cylinders, increasing the air density and reducing its volume. This allows more fuel to be injected and burned within the limited cylinder volume, thereby enhancing the engine's power output.
