What does the yellow A on the dashboard mean?

Dashboard showing yellow A indicates that the engine auto start-stop function has been turned off. The auto start-stop system automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle comes to a temporary stop (such as at a red light) during driving. When it's time to move forward again, the system automatically restarts the engine. The auto start-stop system of a vehicle's engine: As long as the conditions for activating the engine start-stop system are met, it will automatically control the engine to stop, thereby reducing fuel consumption. At the same time, this start-stop system does not have any impact on the engine, because when the engine is in a hot state, the wear caused by a hot start is negligible. Working principle of the start-stop system: When the vehicle stops due to traffic congestion or at an intersection, the driver presses the brake pedal and shifts into neutral. At this time, the "start-stop" system automatically detects that the engine is idling without being in gear; the wheel speed sensors of the anti-lock braking system show zero; and the electronic battery sensor indicates there is enough energy for the next start. When these three conditions are met, the engine will automatically stop running. When the traffic light turns green, the driver presses the clutch, and then the "start-stop" can be activated, allowing the engine to start quickly. In an automatic transmission vehicle, simply releasing the brake or turning the steering wheel will cause the engine to automatically ignite immediately, after which you can press the accelerator to start right away—the entire process occurs while in D gear.
That yellow A light on the dashboard really freaked me out the first time I saw it too. After checking the manual, I learned it indicates an issue with the auto start-stop system. This feature is supposed to save fuel by automatically shutting off the engine at red lights, but it deactivates itself when the battery is low, engine temperature is too high, or when the AC is running. My old car always shows the yellow A when running the AC in summer - as long as the car drives normally, it's fine to ignore temporarily. However, if the light stays on constantly along with other warning lights, or if the car has trouble starting, you should immediately check the battery condition and charging system. Batteries used primarily for short trips are most prone to losing charge and causing this issue.
