REST in air conditioning refers to residual heat heating. This function utilizes the residual heat of the engine to continue providing warm air inside the car for up to half an hour after the engine is turned off, before automatically shutting down. It is particularly suitable for short-term parking in winter when the engine is turned off, helping to maintain the interior temperature and prevent rapid cooling. When restarting the vehicle, there is no need to turn on the air conditioning system to reheat the interior. To activate this function, press the REST button on the center console after turning off the engine. This function uses the residual heat of the engine and does not require the air conditioning compressor to be turned on, so it does not consume additional fuel. In winter, this feature provides a brief service for many car owners: they can leave the car, press the REST button, set the desired temperature, and simply walk away.

I'm quite familiar with the REST function of the air conditioning system. It's essentially a design that allows warm air to continue blowing after the car is turned off. I often use it while driving, especially during winter when picking up or dropping off my kids at school. By pressing the REST button on the panel before turning off the engine, the fan can keep running for a few minutes to over ten minutes, utilizing the residual heat from the engine to provide warm air. It's very practical and energy-saving, keeping you warm without restarting the engine, thus saving fuel and being eco-friendly. However, it's important to note that the engine must be sufficiently warm before parking for it to work effectively. Pressing it when the engine is cold is basically useless, as it will only blow cold air. Most German cars like Volkswagen and Audi are equipped with this feature. Remember to try it out on cold days during daily use, as it can offer great convenience for short stops. In short, it's a small energy-saving helper, and mastering more car functions can enhance driving comfort.

How to Adjust Self-Adjusting Brakes?

On the inner side of the caliper brake pump, you can see a bleeder screw with a cap. Rotate it counterclockwise, and oil will start to leak out. After letting the oil drain for a few seconds, tighten the screw again. Then, repeatedly press the brake pedal in the cabin several times and hold it down. At this point, loosen the bleeder screw again, let the oil drain for a few more seconds, and then tighten it. Repeat this process several times to achieve the desired brake adjustment effect.

Is the Vehicle Management Office Open on Saturdays?

The Vehicle Management Office is open on Saturdays, and basic services such as temporary license plates and license plate replacements can be handled on weekends and holidays, but vehicle registration services are not available. The Vehicle Management Office is primarily responsible for handling vehicle registration, modification, transfer, mortgage, and cancellation, as well as driver's license applications, replacements, renewals, and reviews, along with other related services for vehicles and drivers. When processing vehicle registration, driver examinations, and license issuance, the office must use a workflow record form to document the progress of these procedures. Upon completion of tasks, each department must sign the workflow record form. Supervisory or leadership roles should note clear handling opinions on the form when addressing issues reported by various departments. The workflow record form is then archived in the vehicle and driver records.
