Rear: It refers to the rear windshield defogger. Pressing this button removes fog from the rear windshield. Additional information: Literal meaning: The word "rear" literally means the back or rear part. In cars, the rear button is found in the air conditioning system and serves as the rear defogger button. However, many car models now omit the "rear" label and simply use an icon instead. On the rear windshield of a car, you will see thin copper wires—these are heating elements. Pressing the rear button activates these heating wires to defog the rear windshield. The rear defogger switch automatically turns off after about ten minutes to protect the heating elements.
