When the dashboard displays the ECO indicator, it indicates that the vehicle's economy mode is activated. ECO is an English abbreviation derived from Ecology (environmental protection), Conservation (energy saving), and Optimization (power). The Eco mode is further divided into active Eco driving mode and passive Eco driving mode. The Eco mode is categorized into active and passive types. The difference lies in the fact that the active type has a dedicated button, allowing the driver to choose whether to enable it. When the driver presses the Eco mode switch, the dashboard indicator light immediately illuminates, and the vehicle automatically begins adjusting settings such as throttle opening, transmission shift logic, and air conditioning output power. The passive Eco mode does not have a dedicated button. When the dashboard Eco indicator light turns on, it serves merely as a reminder function. The Eco system automatically evaluates your driving behavior. If your current driving operation achieves the optimal fuel supply, the dashboard will simultaneously display the Eco indicator light. Most vehicles utilize the active Eco driving mode, which features a dedicated switch button. Therefore, during daily driving, we can enable the Eco mode. However, it is unnecessary to activate the Eco mode when driving at speeds exceeding 120 km/h, during idle parking, in N/P gear, or in manual mode—especially when climbing hills. Doing so would not only fail to demonstrate the fuel-saving characteristics of Eco but also impair vehicle performance. In addition, the Eco mode typically becomes ineffective under the following conditions: When the vehicle speed exceeds 120 kilometers per hour, the system prioritizes speed, causing the Eco mode to automatically deactivate. During idle parking or when in N/P gear or manual mode, the Eco mode may also become ineffective. When high torque output is required, such as when climbing a hill, the engine control unit prioritizes ensuring sufficient power to drive the vehicle, and the Eco mode will not function.

Does a non-functioning turn signal affect vehicle inspection?

A non-functioning turn signal will affect the vehicle inspection. If the turn signal is not working, it is recommended that the owner repairs it before the annual inspection. The turn signals of a car are relatively prone to damage. In some vehicles, the turn signal may flash at a very fast frequency, which indicates a malfunction. According to Article 21 of the Road Traffic Safety Law, before driving a motor vehicle on the road, the driver should carefully inspect the safety and technical performance of the vehicle and must not drive a vehicle with incomplete safety facilities or components that do not meet technical standards, posing safety hazards. National regulations stipulate that private passenger vehicles are exempt from inspection for the first six years, and the inspection certificate can be obtained directly. Vehicles exempt from inspection within six years can undergo the annual inspection online without the need to queue at the vehicle management office.

Are torque and moment the same?

Torque and moment are the same. Torque is a crucial performance parameter of a car engine, and many people consider the maximum power and torque of the engine when purchasing a car. Power can be converted into horsepower, which refers to how much work an object can perform in a unit of time. The greater the power, the more work the object can perform in a unit of time. Torque measures how much moment the engine can output in a single cycle. Torque is the moment output by the engine that enables the crankshaft to rotate. The greater the torque, the stronger the car's acceleration performance. The power of a car engine is related to both torque and rotational speed. If the engine has relatively high torque and rotational speed, its power will also be greater.

What Components Make Up the Steering System?

The steering system consists of three main components: the steering control mechanism, the steering gear, and the steering linkage. It can be categorized into two types: mechanical steering systems and power steering systems. The steering system is a series of devices used to change or maintain the direction of a vehicle's movement, whether moving forward or backward. Given its critical role in driving safety, all components of a vehicle's steering system are referred to as safety-critical parts. During operation, a vehicle must frequently change its direction of travel according to the driver's intentions, a process known as steering. For wheeled vehicles, steering is achieved when the driver uses a specialized mechanism to angle the wheels on the steering axle relative to the vehicle's longitudinal axis. Even when driving straight, steering wheels can be affected by lateral forces from the road surface, causing them to turn automatically and alter the vehicle's direction. In such cases, the driver can use the same mechanism to counteract this by turning the wheels in the opposite direction, thereby restoring the vehicle to its original course.
