What does the China VI diesel standard mean?
1 Answers
China VI diesel standard refers to the sulfur content being reduced to no more than 0.035%, the removal of acidity index requirements, the implementation of fuel index requirements for automotive lubricity and fatty acid methyl esters, the reduction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons index to 7%, and the further increase of cetane number requirement to 49. The differences between China V and China VI: Different fuel quality: The China VI standard gasoline and diesel have superior emission data in terms of fuel quality compared to the China V standard, reducing more particulate matter and lowering emissions of non-methane organic gases and nitrogen oxides. Overall, compared to China V, the China VI emission limits will be tightened by about 40% to 50%, and the same standards apply to diesel vehicles. Different nitrogen oxide emissions: For gasoline vehicles, the requirements for nitrogen oxide emissions have been increased, and new tests for particulate matter concentration in gasoline vehicles with direct injection have been added. For diesel vehicles, multiple indicators have been significantly improved, with particulate matter concentration being 82% stricter. Different emission limits: Data shows that compared to China V standard gasoline/diesel, China VI fuel reduces carbon monoxide emissions by 50%, total hydrocarbon and non-methane hydrocarbon emission limits by 50%, and nitrogen oxide emission limits are tightened by 42%.
