Tesla's estimated cost savings refer to the savings on gasoline expenses and subsequent costs. Comparison of fuel consumption between Tesla and conventional gasoline vehicles: All Tesla models have zero fuel consumption, and charging can be done with a standard 220V outlet. The difference lies in the actual range: Tesla vehicles have a range of 300 kilometers, which is half that of conventional cars. Consequently, charging frequency is doubled. For the same range, energy costs for conventional gasoline vehicles are 6-8 times higher than those for Tesla. Maintenance costs: Tesla's pure electric vehicles are virtually maintenance-free. Without a gasoline engine or transmission, there is no engine oil to change, and thus no oil filter to replace. At most, the cabin air filter might need replacement, but the cost is negligible.
