Running a red light refers to the act of a motor vehicle violating the prohibition of passage during the red light phase at signal-controlled intersections or road sections, crossing the stop line and continuing to move forward. The behavior of running a red light is clearly defined in the "Road Traffic Safety Law." Article 26 states that traffic signals consist of red, green, and yellow lights. A red light indicates prohibition of passage, a green light permits passage, and a yellow light serves as a warning. A red light is a traffic signal prohibiting passage. If a vehicle passes through an intersection during a red light, it constitutes the traffic violation of running a red light. Three photos captured by electronic cameras are used to determine whether a vehicle has run a red light: a photo of the vehicle crossing the stop line at the intersection, showing the red light and license plate number; a photo of the vehicle fully crossing the stop line, showing the red light and license plate number; and a photo of the vehicle continuing to move forward, comparing changes in the vehicle's position, showing the red light and license plate number. If these three photos are captured, the vehicle is determined to have run a red light. To avoid running a red light, follow these guidelines: First, observe the arrow signal, then the circular signal: Currently, there are two types of traffic signals: arrow traffic lights and circular traffic lights. When an arrow signal is present, first check the arrow signal and then the circular signal to avoid running a red light. Note: When encountering a circular red light, right turns are permitted. However, if the right-turn arrow signal is red, right turns are prohibited. Violating this rule will result in penalties for running a red light. Brake promptly: When the red light turns on, ensure the front of the vehicle does not cross the stop line. If the front wheels accidentally cross, and the rear wheels follow, the electronic camera will capture the violation, leading to penalties for running a red light. If the front wheels have just crossed the stop line when the signal turns red, passage through the intersection is prohibited. Wait for the green light before proceeding. Check the countdown on the green light before proceeding: When the green light flashes, if there is a countdown, use it to judge whether to proceed. If there is no countdown, and the vehicle is close to the intersection with high speed, it may pass to avoid running a red light due to delayed braking. If the speed is slow and the vehicle is far from the intersection, brake immediately to avoid running a red light. Article 38 of the "Regulations for the Implementation of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China" states the following regarding motor vehicle and non-motor vehicle signals: When the green light is on, vehicles are permitted to pass, but turning vehicles must not obstruct the passage of straight-moving vehicles or pedestrians. When the yellow light is on, vehicles that have already crossed the stop line may continue to pass. When the red light is on, vehicles are prohibited from passing. At intersections without non-motor vehicle or pedestrian signals, non-motor vehicles and pedestrians must follow the motor vehicle signals. When the red light is on, right-turning vehicles may pass, provided they do not obstruct the passage of other vehicles or pedestrians. Running a red light is not considered a violation under the following circumstances: Yielding to emergency vehicles: Yielding to ambulances, fire trucks, or other emergency vehicles. If captured by surveillance cameras while yielding, the violation will not be recorded during manual review. Even if recorded, the driver may appeal to the traffic police department. Extreme weather: When visibility is so low that even electronic police cannot clearly see the traffic signals, the evidence of violation may be blurry. In such cases, mistakenly running a red light will not result in penalties. Emergencies: When transporting a critically ill patient to the hospital, running multiple red lights may be unavoidable. After delivering the patient, the driver can present proof from the hospital or the rescued individual to the traffic police for verification. If confirmed, the violation records will be cleared. If possible, calling an ambulance is recommended to avoid accidents caused by running red lights. Police direction: During peak hours, traffic police may temporarily direct traffic at major intersections. Drivers must follow the hand signals of the traffic police.

Driving straight through an intersection when the traffic light is red is called running a red light. Nowadays, many major intersections in cities have electronic police surveillance. In places like Shenzhen, getting caught not only results in a 500-yuan fine but also deducts 6 points from your license. Last year, my neighbor ran a red light and crashed into a car making a legal left turn. The airbags deployed, and while no one was hurt, the front of his car was totaled. The worst part was that he lost all 12 points on his license and had to retake the written test, delaying his work for half a month. Honestly, those extra few seconds aren’t worth the risk—even if you’re in a hurry, gambling with your life isn’t the answer. An accident affects the whole family, and colliding with a truck can be even more terrifying. It’s crucial to avoid such dangerous consequences at all costs.

How to Control the Ignition Advance Angle?

Optimal ignition advance angle not only ensures the engine's power and fuel economy reach their best, but also minimizes the emission of harmful substances in the exhaust. The specific control methods are as follows: 1. Open-loop control of ignition advance angle. Open-loop control is when the electronic control unit extracts the corresponding basic ignition angle from its internal data based on the engine operating conditions provided by relevant sensors. 2. Closed-loop control of ignition advance angle. Closed-loop control can continuously monitor the engine's relevant working conditions, such as whether the engine is vibrating or the idle speed is stable, while controlling the ignition advance angle.

Is 15w40 engine oil suitable for winter use?

15w40 engine oil can be used in winter in southern regions, but it is not suitable in northern areas like Harbin where temperatures are relatively low. More information about 15w40 engine oil is as follows: 1. 15W40 engine oil is suitable for use at temperatures above -20℃. Since engine oil has a certain freezing point and viscosity, i.e., an applicable temperature range, and there are significant differences in winter temperatures between the north and south of China, whether 15W40 engine oil can be used depends on the local temperature conditions in winter and summer. 2. The meaning of 15W40: The number before W indicates the low-temperature fluidity of the engine oil, or the minimum applicable temperature of the oil. The smaller the number, the better the low-temperature fluidity and the lower the minimum applicable temperature. 15 indicates that the minimum applicable temperature is -20℃, and its low-temperature fluidity is relatively average. 40 represents the viscosity value of the oil, which is a relatively high-viscosity oil with good high-temperature protection performance.

What Causes Engine Vibration at Idle When Warm?

The causes of engine vibration at idle when warm are as follows: 1. Leaks in the intake pipe and various valves: Common issues include cracked intake manifolds or poor intake manifold sealing. When there is an air supply system leak, the engine's electronic control unit (ECU) receives inaccurate intake air volume signals, leading to misjudgment and resulting in unstable engine idle. 2. Excessive carbon buildup on valves and intake pipes: This causes the ECU to make incorrect judgments, failing to achieve sufficient power and resulting in idle vibration. 3. Malfunctions in idle control sensors and related circuits: For example, if the idle switch fails to close, the ECU mistakenly assumes the engine is under partial load, leading to incorrect air intake control. The idle control valve may respond slowly or get stuck due to oil contamination or carbon buildup, or the throttle valve may not close properly, preventing the ECU from making accurate idle adjustments. Additionally, issues such as short circuits or open circuits in sensors like the intake air temperature sensor, air flow sensor, coolant temperature sensor, and their circuits can also cause unstable engine idle. 4. Ignition system: Generally, spark plugs are a key component that can cause unstable engine idle. If a spark plug fails to ignite, it directly affects cylinder combustion, causing uneven power output among cylinders and leading to unstable engine idle.

What to Do When Rearview Mirrors Are Unclear in Rainy Weather?

Solutions for unclear rearview mirrors in rainy weather are as follows: 1. Install rain visors or covers on the rearview mirrors. Rain visors are easy to install and inexpensive, effective in light rain without obstructing the view, but they are less effective in heavy rain and may affect aesthetics. 2. Apply soap to the mirror surface. Rub a wet cloth with soap and then wipe the mirror. After the mirror dries, gently remove any residue with a tissue. 3. Use water repellent. Water repellents mainly contain silicone oil, which alters the surface tension of water on glass to prevent droplets from sticking, similar to soap. However, the effect is not long-lasting. 4. Install heated rearview mirrors. Heated rearview mirrors are high-tech anti-fogging products, offering the best rain-clearing effect, but the modification cost is relatively high.
