What does 'rear' mean in a car?

In a car, 'rear' refers to the rear window defogger button, although many car models now omit the English word 'rear' and simply use an icon. On the rear windshield of a car, you can see thin copper wires, which are heating elements. Pressing the 'rear' button activates these heating elements to defog the rear window. For most car owners, using the air conditioning system is common. Almost all cars on the market today have air conditioning vents located below the front windshield. The air conditioning can only be used to defog the front windshield by blowing air when the appropriate setting is selected. Both cold and warm air have their advantages and disadvantages. If you are in a hurry to hit the road, you can use cold air for a quick response. In most cases, however, it is recommended to use warm air.
When I first got my driver's license, I was also often confused by this term. Later I realized that 'rear' in cars refers to the 'back part', like rear seats and rear window. The most frequent use of the rear section when driving is for reversing, such as cars with rearview mirrors that help me see obstacles behind; when riding in a friend's SUV, the rear legroom is spacious, making long trips with kids especially comfortable. Mechanics also say rear lights should be checked regularly to ensure they illuminate when braking, preventing rear-end collisions. In short, understanding this concept makes driving safer and helps with car selection.
