Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) are equipped with both an electric motor and an internal combustion engine, both of which can provide power output. The vehicle body is equipped with a charging port, allowing the onboard battery to be charged using charging stations. It consists of an electric drive system combined with one or more other drive systems that can operate simultaneously (primarily a hybrid configuration of internal combustion engine and electric motor). Generally speaking, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles refer to a type of new energy vehicle that sits between pure electric vehicles and conventional fuel-powered vehicles. They retain the traditional car components such as the engine, transmission, drivetrain, fuel system, and fuel tank, while also incorporating the battery, electric motor, and control circuitry found in pure electric vehicles, with the added feature of having a relatively large battery capacity.
