Parking regeneration is when the carbon load reaches a level where the aforementioned regeneration methods cannot burn off the soot to resolve clogging issues. In such cases, the driver needs to stop the vehicle and press the onboard regeneration switch to execute parking regeneration. This process requires the involvement of the electronic control system and catalysts. This self-cleaning combustion process is referred to as "DPF Regeneration." Principle of Parking Regeneration: Parking regeneration involves the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter), which is installed in the diesel engine's exhaust system to filter and primarily adsorb particulate matter from the exhaust, such as soot, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, and sulfur, preventing them from being released into the atmosphere and causing environmental pollution. Using a DPF can reduce over 90% of the soot in diesel engine emissions.
