What does parallel imported car mean?

Parallel imported cars refer to vehicles imported directly from their country of origin, generally meaning cars imported by other importers besides the general distributor directly from the vehicle's original production location. Parallel imported cars are also legal products that enter the domestic market after passing 3C certification. Compared to joint-venture cars and domestically produced cars, parallel imported cars have relatively small batch volumes, and their after-sales service and warranty are not guaranteed in the long run. Parallel imported cars are directly imported from regions like North America and the Middle East, and their models may not necessarily match those of China-spec vehicles. For example, the Mercedes-Benz GL350 diesel version is not sold in domestic Mercedes-Benz 4S stores, but can be purchased through parallel imports.
