Optional license plate prefix refers to the ability of motor vehicle owners to choose their own license plate numbers. Self-selected vehicle license plate numbers: There are two forms: one is online selection, and the other is selection at the vehicle management office. Online selection is divided into random selection and self-selected numbering. For online selection, only combinations of numbers + letters + numbers can be chosen. Owners can opt for random selection. For self-selected numbering, the number segments must have been released for more than 7 days. Each self-selection allows for up to five number combinations, with a total of 20 self-selection opportunities. Once a self-selected license plate number is chosen, it cannot be changed. Points to note when selecting a license plate number: After selecting a number online, it must be processed at the local vehicle management office within three days. If this period is exceeded, the selected number will automatically become invalid. Documents required for new vehicle number selection: original ID card, ID card copy, original vehicle qualification certificate, compulsory insurance policy, car purchase invoice, car purchase qualification certificate, and original registration form.
