What does OBD connect to?

OBD interface itself is not designed for external connections, and external devices may affect the car itself through the OBD interface due to their own malfunctions or issues. OBD is a diagnostic system extended for automotive fault diagnosis. Extension: The OBD system continuously monitors whether the vehicle's emissions exceed the standard from the engine's operating conditions. Once exceeded, it will immediately issue a warning. When the system fails, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) or Check Engine warning light will illuminate, and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) will store the fault information in memory. The fault code can be read from the PCM through a certain procedure.
