Central brake light on is a signal alarm indicating that the high-mounted brake light is not functioning. The brake light is an important light on a vehicle. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the brake light illuminates to alert the driver behind to maintain a safe distance. Below are the introduction of brake lights and the reasons why the brake light stays on: Introduction to brake lights: Brake lights are generally installed at the rear of the vehicle and are red in color to make it easier for vehicles behind to notice when the front vehicle is braking, thereby preventing rear-end collisions. In simple vehicle models, power passes through a fuse to the brake switch. When the brake pedal is pressed for braking, the switch activates, sending electricity to the two brake lights and one high-mounted brake light, completing the circuit through the negative wire connected to the vehicle body. Reasons why the brake light stays on: Lack of brake fluid; Tail light bulb damage; Brake pads need replacement. When braking stops, the return spring restores the brake pads to their original position. If the brake fluid decreases rapidly, it indicates a leak in the brake system.
