What does it mean when the Beidou positioning system of a large truck goes offline?

Going offline actually means the driving recorder is in an offline state. The so-called "Beidou positioning system" is essentially a driving recorder that can record the vehicle's speed and time, and alerts the driver when speeding or fatigue driving occurs. This onboard terminal is a small black square box with a built-in SIM IoT card, which consumes the telecom operator's data traffic during data transmission. The device requires a card to function, and the card is bound to the driver—one card per person. There are several reasons why the device might go offline: 1. Normally, the onboard terminal achieves positioning by receiving satellite signals, then transmits the processed data via the telecom operator's network to various provincial monitoring platforms, which then upload it to the national freight big data platform. The signal status is displayed on the device's screen. If the device malfunctions, or the vehicle is in a basement, tunnel, or other areas with poor signal, the driving recorder might fail to receive satellite signals or transmit its data, resulting in the device showing as offline. 2. Another scenario is when the SIM card inside the device has insufficient balance and is suspended, which also causes the device to go offline. 3. There is also the possibility that the driver intentionally damages or modifies the device to evade monitoring. 4. From a technical standpoint, the device operator can monitor the terminal's online status. When the device goes offline, the operator can detect it in real-time and notify the driver, but there is no mandatory policy requiring this.
